Black Woollen Cloak

This is a long Bernoose style all wool cloak with Lined hood. Fully lined style has satin lining in a colour choice of Red, Wine, Gold, Black or Purple. The black woolen cape would have been worn by any Crusader Knight, Hospitalier’s Cloaks would have carried a simple Latin cross in white or red, so that they could be recognized on the field by friend or enemy. Sometimes that saved their lives, as the enemy knew that the Hospitaliers attended all wounded, be they friend or foe. The Crusaders used their Cloaks to travel in all weathers, to fight in, ride in and to sleep in. Today they are excellent for Re-enactments, Weddings or Rituals, and Festivals.
