This Surcoat was worn by Knights of the Templar order of Warrior Knights. They were the leaders of the Knights on Crusade, and fought in the Van, or foremost division of the Army on Crusade. They were formidable warriors, having often learned their fighting skills from Saracen leaders in the Holy Lands These Knights were often called “White Knights” because of their good deeds and high status among the Crusaders
