Elizabethan Wedding Gown
Style Code: 9E This Elizabethan style gown was inspired by a portrait of the young and future Queen Elizabeth the First. With it's be-ribboned shoulder puffs and slashed over-sleeves and deep V bodice it captures the essence of female dress of that Medieval era. However, in the interest of comfort, I don't include the wooden stomacher and bum roll which were traditionally worn underneath in those days. Most people now prefer to provide their own underwear. However I can provide a corset if required. Under the drop sleeves are net under-sleeves with finger loops, and the bodice back has pearl buttons opening below a lacing across the shoulders, and over-lacing across the back waist. All ribbons and cord trim, including piping at the square neckline and waist, are Harvest Gold in colour. The dress here is of Satin Broderie, but it makes up well in Silk Damask or Doupion silk . The lining glimpsed at skirt centre front is slipper satin. Oversleeve and hem lace trim is cream Rachelle, but can be done in gold Cluny or cream Guippure. The Chatellaine's Headdress is shown here, but a satin or fresh flower Chaplet would suit as well. Prices: Gown, $420.00 to $440.00 according to fabric. Chatellaine's Headdress $60.00 Return to Wedding Dresses Return to Catalogue (all) |
